Zach Barton or John Baxter would be solid hires.
They are both associate head coaches with their teams.
Barton is from the east coast but has been with Lewis at Kent St and now SDSU.
Baxter is back at Freno and spent alot of time there.

Without any direct knowledge, I would guess this guy is probably Fran’s choice.

He is originally from the East (the Bronx) and coached with Fran at Rutgers. Very long and distinguished career coaching special teams. His special teams units looked very good last season playing against Syracuse……

More on him. He was smart in HS. A little undersized but a terrific athlete. They called him ‘Ralph’.

Yes, at this point in society we are going in the opposite direction and will be calling it R****** Coachs soon...
Apropos of nothing, we introduced the kiddos to Mean Girls last night.

They thoroughly enjoyed it. We did have a conversation with them about how people used some words back in the day, but we know better now.

But also for some weird reason there are some people that seem really invested in bringing certain words back, so they may have heard some of them at school, but those are not words kids should use, and it's also ok to tell those kids that they don't need to use them, and if the parents of those kids have a problem with my kids telling their kids that, well, we can talk about it and we'll see if they enjoy the words I choose to use.

This guy was still at Temple when we played UNLV in 2024. Would think if Fran wanted him, he could have tried to get him last year when he went with Brumfield.

My bad. Can’t trust AI. Still a very good specials coach who coached with Fran at RU.

Money for him might not have been available last season and now is….

I'll put in the obligatory "Justin Lustig, please."

SU ST were exceptional when he was here. I expect he's too expensive now, although he's likely on the street after the debacle at Penn State.
Yeah I agree if Matt Campbell doesn't retain him he should be the main target if money is in the ballpark.

We lack a TE coach with Nunzio leaving. I would suspect the new ST coach will also coach a position. Maybe TE/ST combination which is common.

Nebraska fired Ed Foley who was their ST coach. He was with Rhule a long time which also meant he coached alongside Fran as well. He has a ton of experience with Special Teams and Tight Ends. Meets the prerequisite of being from Jersey as well.

VaTech has not yet announced if they are retaining the previous STC or not (Stu Holt). So there's a chance that James Franklin is calling him too.

Only one reason someone has the nickname of 'Ralph'.

I want the who, what, when, where and why on this one.
