Uually there is a pre-spring depth chart and I wouldn't be surprised if they thought releasing that could effect some guys negatively and have them leave. Delaying it and seeing how spring practice goes may keep them around a bit longer. I'm not saying that is definitely the reason but something i've wondered if it was a factor in this decision.
