Some spring practice notes: Team did some scrimmage work for about 20 minutes today. LB Dyshawn Davis delivered a big hit.

Other practice standouts: Wayne Williams had a couple TFLs. Shafer said it was his best practice of the spring.

Biggest play of the scrimmage? Jarrod West pulled down 50-yard completion from Hunt near the sideline.

Ron Thompson had a "sack" and got consistent pressure on the quarterback at DE.

Adonis Ameen-Moore was "dragging guys down the field." Shafer said he is coming on. "I think he sees some light at the end of the tunnel."

Shafer also said RT Michael Lasker recently lost his father.

Sorry to hear about Lasker and his father. It was good to see some video from practice.

I've been doing a little reading on some of our opponents. This video is dramaticallydifferent than what ND is putting out. They put out a video that is all about competition and the open practice environment makes you feel that the coaches want them to be able to perform under pressure.

Sorry for another teams video on our board in our thread

More spring notes: noticed in video SU posted Mitch Kimble was at practice doing something. Shafer pleased with AJ Long's competitiveness.

Coaching staff working on Long's release. Another young player, Chauncey Scissum, has flashed potential but also has made some ugly plays.

Kimble hadn't been participating in practice due to a back injury.

Doing something is better than doing nothing.

If you look at the practice vid you posted you can see all 5 QBs... Long #4, Wilson #5, Hunt #10, Kimble #3 and Green #7 in that order in that line practicing.

Love the news. If West is catching a pass 50downfield, Hunt is throwing it that far. Could we see some longer balls this fall?

Glad AAM is doing good in practice. He could be a difference maker in the backfield as a change up.

Very excited to see what Hunt will do this year, and how he will build upon last year's performance.
