who are your favorite stand up comics working today? I've been hitting the Comedy Store & the Laugh Factory fairly regularly the last couple of months, and there is a ton of talent out there right now.

My current favorites:
Kyle Kinane - brilliant story teller; his material would make an excellent HBO comedy series, IMO.
Kirk Fox
Michael Kosta

Oddly enough, one day while looking for the Cuse game on the am radio dial up here (we usually get broadcasts from Plattsburg), I came across a comedy station and have been listening fairly regularly. Tosh is very funny.

Mike Birbiglia is pretty good as well.

I travel back and forth to Buffalo a lot, so many of my trips are spent listening to the comedy channels on XM Radio. Here are a few of my favorites off the top of my head:

Pete Holmes
Hannibal Buress
Shane Mauss
Kyle Kinane
Eugene Mirman
Dave Attell
Kevin Hart

That Redneck Comedy movement put me off of stand-up for awhile, I am sure there are lots of talented comedians out there. I should start paying attention.

There's an up and comer from Syracuse named Jessimae Peluso. I was friends with her elementary through highschool, and then reconnected with her on Facebook a couple of years back. When I found out she was a comedian it made so much sense. She's coming out to one of the SLC clubs in a few months so I'm going getting a group of people together to see her show.

After seeing him plug his tour during Talking Dead I'd be curious to see if Chris Hardwick is any good.

I loved JohnPinette but unfortunately passed away from his topic that made him popular. You can catch his act on U-Tube .Seinfeld is great as well of course. O loved Jay Leno and he still does a lot of "stand-up" I like a little bite to the humor. Bill Mahr is excellent but the GOP base hates him as well as the "god people" Those who read the bible and regard it as a text book.

Jim Jefferies.

Love the new Aziz Ansari Netflix special.

Forgot about some others that I love:

Louis C.K.
Nick Swardson
Todd Barry
Bill Burr
Neal Brennan (Chappelle Show co-creator)
