Only 4-5 games left and with OSU losing those that want a 8-16 team playoff can start rooting for this years chaos.. its possible none of the 4 playoff teams win their own league.

OSU beats michigan and loses to 2 loss Wisc in the big 10 final
Ala loses to Florida in Sec final
Baylor or WV end up undefeated

Clemson losses in ACC final to NC

Wash beats to Utah and loses to them in Pac 12 final

Osu 12-1
Mich 11-1
Wisc 11-2 wins Big 10

Baylor/Wv undefeated

Wash 12-1
Utah wins Pac-12

Clemson 12-1
UL 11-1
UNC wins ACC

Alabama 12-1
Florida wins Sec

Navy finishes 12-1
Boise finishes 13-0
West Mich finishes 13-0
even worse had BYU finished 12-0 with the schedule they played

OSU would be 2 losses.

Michigan
Alabama
Clemson
Washington

I don't see WV or Baylor getting in with their craptastic schedules and craptastic Big 12.

Alabama is in even if they lose a game.
Big Ten Champion automatically is in if its Ohio State/Michigan/Wisconsin
ACC Champion gets in if they have 0 or 1 loss.

4th spot is open
Washington/Utah have inside track.
West Virginia if they win out are 5th.
Baylor undefeated probably is in if the Pac-12 champion loses multiple games.

Louisville/Texas A&M/Michigan w/1 loss is the debate if Washington loses 2 games/Utah loses 1 more game and there no undefeated Big XII teams.

An 8-16 team playoff would be a disaster. I would watch a lot less non SU games if they went to that. It would be like the NFL where most regular season games aren't a big deal. I think a 6 team playoff would be fair. Give the P5 auto bids (assuming finish Top 10) and let the 6th team be picked by a committee. That gives the regular season meaning and allows access for the G5. I would be fine giving the G5/ND an auto if they finish Top 10 and there is no at large in the Top 5.

So it would have been:

2016 (if the season ended today)
1. Bama vs winner of 4. Washington/5. Louisville
2. Michigan vs winner of 3. Clemson/6. Baylor
Highest ranked G5 13th. ND NR.

2015
1. Clemson vs winner of 4. Oklahoma/5. Iowa
2. Bama vs winner of 3. Michigan State/6. Stanford
Highest ranked G5 18th. Iowa was 5th so they bump #8 ND.

2014
1. Bama vs winner of 4. Ohio State/5. Baylor
2. Oregon vs winner of 3. FSU/6. TCU
Highest ranked G5 20th. ND NR.

2013
1. FSU vs winner of 4. Bama/5. Stanford
2. Auburn vs 3. Michigan State/6. Baylor
Highest ranked G5 15th. ND NR.

2012
1. Notre Dame vs 4. Florida/5. Oregon
2. Bama vs 3. Kansas State/6. Stanford
Highest ranked G5 was 15th.

At large teams in bold

What are the odds of that happening, <1℅?

Have to wait until after this weekend.

Most of the undefeated teams have a challenging road game.

First playoff committee ranking comes out Tuesday.

Then all the crazy scenarios can begin.

I just want to see what they do if every 0-1 loss team loses in the Conf Playoff game to a 2-3 loss team.. we have been lucky so far its only been a single team in play with that kind of loss. even OK could win out in the Big 12 and give WV/Baylor a loss and end up with all P5 conf with an inferior record winning the titles.

Well, a wise man once said, "The only predictable thing about football, is, that it's completely unpredictable." ;)
You just cant predict FOOTBALL Suzyn...
