State Fair to be 100% capacity. Good for football?

It's a step in the right direction.

As of May 19th, indoor arenas and stadiums were still limited to 30%.

I'm sure NYS will issue new guidelines shortly.

If only we had a retractable roof.

2 months to see if the numbers stay even. get better. or go backwards..

How can they go backwards?
People refusing to get vaccinated? New transmission vectors from large crowds at football games? A new variant from Florida?

I need a graph to be able to visualize the data.

backwards can just be, # people getting sick goes up or a variant breaks thru.

Cuomo has scheduled a press conference at 12:15 p.m. today in New York City where he’s expected to make the news official and announce the end of the rules.

Social distancing requirements, capacity limits, cleaning and disinfection mandates, health screening rules and requirements to collect contact information for tracing infections will all be gone. The changes will apply to retail businesses, food services, offices, gyms, fitness centers, amusement parks, family entertainment centers, hair salons, barber shops and personal care service providers, among other commercial settings.

Covid rules will remain in a few places until more people are vaccinated. They include large event venues that seat over 5,000 people, public transportation, health care facilities, schools, homeless shelters and correctional facilities
.

People moving out of state and deaths vs people moving in and births?
Sure, but that likely wouldn't move the percentage of vaccinated adults appreciably, or enough to move the number below 70% once the state initially reaches that point.

How can they go backwards?

Perhaps, it may be due to the general concern for the 'Delta' variant?

Health officials are sounding the alarm that Delta threatens to reverse the progress made in countries, like the U.S. and U.K., that have lately been beating the pandemic into retreat and worsen conditions in countries, like India, that are still deep in crisis.

The vaccines works against the Delta variant. Pretty important detail.

We aren’t going to do this with another thread. Many have been locked, moved, or had posts deleted. 25 posts deleted in one thread. This is not a place to make your political statements. Either side.

I agree with all of that. That wasn't what I meant by going "backwards."

I always play nice.

This means Dome full right?

Not yet.

Distancing requirements are also gone for indoor event venues that seat fewer than 5,000 people.

But the Barclays is close to full no? What are the requirements that will be in place for the Dome going forward?

I mean... it would be kinda funny if they were stuck there and just didn't loosen restrictions, right? Kinda?

Well, I would have laughed anyway, but it wasn't meant to be.

I believe the governor is on record that the Mets and Yankees can go to 100% capacity if they limit attendance to fans who have been vaccinated. I know right now the Mets are allowed to fill the sections reserved for vaccinated fans to 100% while the sections reserved for unvaccinated fans are limited to 33% capacity.

Those are of course outdoor venues. Not sure at this point he would offer the same deal to Syracuse.

It will be interesting to follow what the Mets and Yankees do with attendance and vaccination as the summer ensues. And how much the rules change for a large venue with a roof (and a top of the line filtering system).

The Knicks were limiting ticket sales to vaccinated fans only. Not sure what the Nets are doing.

The rules will keep changing as more and more people get vaxed.

What's in place today hopefully will be obsolete by September.

For sure would have to be a bunch of variables at once. Was just thinking out loud as the initial question made me pause and ponder the possibility
