I think Shafer could be fine as a HC if and only if he surrounds himself with the right people, particularly on the offensive side of the ball. If he does that, then I believe he'll recruit well enough and we can win with him at the helm. If not, then he won't be around very much longer, IMO. I'm pulling for him--he's an easy guy to root for. But at the end of the day, he'll be judged by the results on the field.
