Stealth Near Double-Double..

I know you can say this about every team, but imagine Rakeem Christmas on this team?

G/Cooney/Howard up top with Malachi/Lydon/Roberson/Christmas in the back.

I say this because Lydon is forced to play C and he is so out of position. Plumlee abused him last night at times. Not really surprising given the age and weight disparity. Huge trey he knocked down though.

Everybody made a play to win the game. Lydon's second three - when we went something like 7 consecutive trips down the floor without an empty possession - was huge. His defense was rough, though. Duke knew how to take advantage.

4 players with 14 points, a surprisingly balanced offensive game. Has always been if you stop Mike G, then if you stop Mal, if you stop Cooney... So much better if defenses know that switching, doubling a player will be exploited. Looking forward to 5 players being true offensive threats and defenses having to pay for targeting just 1 or 2 players to stop.

And had Plumlee gotten whistled for a blatant over the back Lydon would have had 10 boards.

This was literally the poster-boy play for what an OVER THE BACK looks like.
No call.

Meanwhile, Roberson gets called for that like 70% of the time.
But, in his case, he's out-jumping the opponent, not clawing his way up their back like Plumlee did on that play.
