Just wanted to give him a shoutout. The kid seems to work his tail off and get every possible Syracuse news to the fans. So refreshing to not deal with that Michael Cohen kid we were stuck with last year. It was terrible to read his articles.

Keep up the good work Bailey, future star in the making.

I think there are two of him. :)

I think he's a good journo, but I question a little bit how he's reporting some of this stuff. He is not responsible for what's happening, but the way he's reporting things may be contributing to McDonald's stuff.

I don't think any of the media guys are that fond of McDonald. Axe was so over the top in his praise for Lester - you could tell he didn't think much of McDonald.

I remember GMC getting into a mini-Twitter fight with Axe before the season. He took exception to something Axe wrote and called him out in a tweet for being too "negative."

Understood but I think it is just part of his job - the ugly part. Like sticking a camera in the face of a parent after a tragic loss. I don't like it but I guess its "news".

I don't have any problem with the reporting. The tweets though make his comment look a lot worse than it seems with the full quote and context.

I'm not absolving McDonald here, just think that McDonakd is looking worse here than he maybe deserves a little bit.

McDonald is a media moron in all this.

Well, he could have just said nothing.

"Coach Shafer has to do what he thinks is best for the program. I'm here to do what's best for the program. My job is to prepare our kids to play Florida State and that's what I'm doing."

It's really not that hard to not come off as an immature ingrate.

I'm not disagreeing. McDonald is stepping in it.

It also feels to me like members of the media are not preventing things from looking bad.

I hate the media as much as the next guy (and I have to work with them every day for a living).

But McDonald is an idiot. He is getting what he deserves in all of this. (With that being said, I do feel a little bad for the guy. But at the same time he made his own bed.)

He needed to do his best Bill Belichick impression.

"We're moving on to Florida State"

True. But if they liked him, it would show.

Unfortunately it's the social media effect. I agree that the tweets make comments sound worse because there is no full context to how something is being said but Bailey would be remiss if he didn't tweet them out as every other outlet is tweeting the same thing.

Preventing? They are reveling. "Plane lands safely" doesn't get page views.

That's the problem when you choose a career path that so heavily involves the media. Their job isn't to protect you or promote you.
