In baseball that is. The Seawolves beat LSU 2 out of 3 in Louisiana in front of record crowds thus advancing to the NCAA College Baseball World Series. St. John's would rank #2 as they fell in the Super Regional's to & @ Arizona after putting up a good fight. The Johnnies SS is Matt Wessinger, a Liverpool product who was drafted by the Colorado Rockies.

SU will never be NYS's College Baseball team as they abandoned the game about 50 years ago. That was at a time when baseball was "America's Pastime". In the meantime, both LeMoyne & OCC had some very competitive teams and turned out an array of outstanding players who reached the major leagues. Will we be the only non-baseball playing team in the ACC?

Stony Brook headed to CWS after beating LSU 7-2

PS: Maybe we could make Stony Brook a division of Syracuse University;)
