I made this chart based on the Coaches' Poll this morning. It's very simple, take the teams you beat and add up their number of wins.

Now there are a ton of other factors you can get into but this method has Syracuse as a top 3 team so we will ignore those.

If you were to get even more granular, and do a stack ranking by P4 W’s, a team like Army would have basically zero.

All the teams with a 4-handle in this chart have feasted on cupcakes to get their W’s this year.
Clempsum included.

So much for our “incredibly soft schedule” this season.

I think if you add in the same weight for losses it’s a decent metric. We’d take a big hit from Stanford.

Why divide WW’s by the teams wins though (WW/W)? That punishes teams that have more wins. Would be better if it was WW/loses.

Yeah soft schedule my butt. Every FBS game we played minus Stanford was against a team who is going bowling. I bet there aren’t many on this list who had 10 of 11 FBS games against eventual bowl teams.

With that in mind, I visited other boards to see what they had to say about us. Pitt wants Brown. But other than that, not much. But I did get a charge out of our friends from the Boneyard. I'm surprised they don't see themselves in the playoff. Gloating against the schools in the AAC that are not going bowling. So, I decided to look at their schedule. A real powerhouse. We were by far, the best team they played all year at 28 (when the top 134 was released last week). Also lost to Duke 38, Maryland 72, and Wake at 83. There best win was against Buffalo 88. Also beat Temple 125, Georgia st. 120, Florida Atlantic 131. Mass 130. I couldn't find UAB and Merrimack.
