I respectfully disagree. The race issue and more specifically interracial is not much of an issue in Texas. I live in the Houston Metro and don't see/hear a lot of this nonsense. You may hear it from rednecks in the outlying areas but that is a rather small number in comparison. You hear it from outlying morons in New York, too, so I wouldn't credit Texas wit the SEC issues. Besides, Texas will back any winner. That is the only measuring stick. There are no moral victories. Yes, beating OU and TAMU - when they play - are important, but winning is the main issue, sticking it to OU and TAMU is just icing on the victory cake. Strong would do well in Texas. He gets kids focused on playing and he does recognize talent (Mack Brown overlooked RGIII and Johnny Football as QBs). Strong will have a good defense (which in Big 12 terms should rank #1 annually) and he is a decent game coach. Texas would do well to look seriously at Strong. However, both Strong and Fisher have schools and fan bases that love them and do not expect NCs annually, so long as they remain highly competitive. There is no issue of money, both are well compensated and Texas can easily buy them out and pay much more. The issue for each is whether they will be happy coaching under the demands of a Texas fan base or whether each will be happy with solid support and a little less pay but realistic shots at the NC periodically. Fisher also has to consider giving up a destination job for another destination job, is it worth the hassle and risk? Nice dilemma to have for each of these guys.
