Was listening to a feature on the Michigan State defense (which is probably the best defensive unit in the country) a few weeks ago, and the name Max Bullough came up.  Middle linebacker, nicknamed "The Computer", unbelievable knowledge of the game, etc.   Turns out he is Chuck's nephew.  Chuck also played  at MSU, as did his brother Shane (Max's father) and another brother of Shane and Chuck's.

Turns out Max's grandfather Hank (who was HC for the Bills in the mid 1980s) also played there in the early 1950s (under former SU HC Biggie Munn; former SU great Duffy Daugherty was also there as an assistant at the time).  You can bet they will all be watching Max and his little brother Riley, who is also on the team, as they play today.

Anyway, the Bulloughs have quite a dynasty going at MSU and a long history of connections between that school and Syracuse continues.  Former SU QB [URL='http://www.msuspartans.com/sports/m-footbl/mtt/dave_warner_282842.html']Dave Warner[/URL], for instance, has been coaching there for 7 years and was promoted this season to co-offensive coordinator.

Regarding SU's bowl destination, if you are rooting for the Military Bowl in Annapolis, one person thinks the NIU defeat last night opened the door for Syracuse to replace Maryland in that bowl.  Don't know how accurate it is but past history indicates that the Sentinel knows their college football pretty well.  Maybe SU still does have a chance to play there.
