The ref also screwed up not starting the 10 second count, but the kid who got the ball knew it should have been going.

Reminds me of the football play. Defensive guy picks up a fumble and begins running down the sideline toward the opponents goal line. Tackled from behind by his own teammate.

He keeps throwing it up and is fouled by his own teammate. Maybe they don't have a 10 second clock in Europe or the ref was so stunned that he forgot to count!!
