Men's Soccer SU 0 vs LeMoyne 1: Mon Sept 2, 7 PM

Hey guys, what happened to Francesco Pagano? Shouldn't he still be on the team?

Thanks. What happened at Syracuse?
Both Pagano brothers transferred, They barely played here. I suspect they realized they belonged at a different level of program. They seemed like good kids. I wish them the best.

Sums it up succinctly. Cicci & Nino are great young men that I got to know a little last year. Both wanted to play, but most importantly they wanted to play together. Seems like they landed in a good spot at Coastal Carolina where both are seeing time on the field.

0-1

Le Moyne Goodrich, Jack PENALTY KICK GOAL, bottom right of net. [16:06]

That’s tough that the goalie guessed right and it still got through

Pathetic, I think is the best way to describe that first half.

Something needs to be changed on offense. That was utterly dreadful. There was only one real dangerous shot in the 2nd half against LeMoyne! This might be a rough season...

Ugh! No energy in the first half and everything in the second half was either too slow, too short or too far. SU looked like a team playing its 4th game in 11 days. Giona Leibold played for the first time for a few minutes in the first half that should help moving forward.

Take care of BC and get a week off before the next game.

And Lemoyne did not look like an ACC team, but unfortunately neither did the Orange.

I missed most of the first half and what I did watch, I saw on ACCNX.

Props to LeMoyne for a great effort. Their kids played very hard and even with the insane number of fouls they were called for, the fouls were not reckless or clearly dirty.

I think our defense is fine. I think the keeper is fine. I think midfield play is more shaky but overall not bad.

IMHO, we continue to have the same problem that plagued us last year. We just can't finish. So many good opportunities but no one can get the ball in the back of the net. We can't even get a shot on goal most of the time when we have a good chance.

Thought we panicked some down the stretch, lost our composure and started forcing liong low probability passes to the middle way too often.

We really need a finisher and some better feeders to get the ball to players in better scoring position. We may have to give some of the kids more playing time and use this year as a learning year.

I won't give up on the veterans yet and hey, maybe we can get Leibold back on the pitch soon. That woulds be great. Really could use a veteran to steady things for us on offense. I think unless we have a couple of the true frosh really emerge, it could be a long season.
