[QUOTE="Spotchekbily, post: 4211364, member: 3441"] The offense isn't clicking like last year but Meaghan, Meg and Emma going a combined 4 for 14 is tough to overcome. They're normally 60%+ shooters. They really need more lefties to run the weave effectively. Last year they had Emily Ehle, Cara Quimby and Bianca all on that side. This year when they've run it, righties have had to fill in. With that said, there's way too much talent for this to be an ongoing issue and you have to assume Meg and Emily are slowly returning to pre-injury form. The defense is a different story. They're clearly struggling to replace major losses. Right now they're not playing the zone nearly as well as last year. I didn't watch the games super closely but it looked like in both the Duke game and Florida game they came out of the zone after the first quarter and played a lot better in their man defense. Julia Basciano played well in that defense but I assume she's not quite up to speed with the zone. Goalie play has clearly been an issue. Seven saves in their combined two losses and under 30% save percentage for the year won't get it done. Both seem to be lacking confidence but that can change quickly. Hopefully they turn it around.
