First one I've seen. Done by Jon Rothstein.

Early 16-17 Top 25:
1. Duke 2. Villanova 3. Kansas 4. Xavier 5. Kentucky
6. Virginia 7. Wisconsin 8. Oregon 9. UCLA 10. Arizona
11. Michigan State 12. Louisville 13. West Virginia 14. USC
15. UNC 16. Dayton 17. UConn 18. Cincinnati 19. Syracuse 20. Gonzaga
21. URI 22. Michigan 23. Creighton 24. Colorado 25. Virginia Tech

They are banking on one of the freshman going then. I think these are low, because Cooney is Cooney and G is the big loss.

Not sure I get URI. REALLY don't get Va Tech. Do they have an outstanding incoming class I'm not aware of?

I think it's about right. G and TC are going to be huge losses in many ways.

I would put us in the top 15, but thats just splitting hairs.

I'm thinking more like #13-15 if Mali and Lydon return.

Does the AP release a final poll after the National championship?

Nova at 2? They lose Ryan and their center. That is pretty heavy.

URI? Has to be a typo.

Any poll is meaningless until we find out who is staying and who is going. Almost every team will lose someone on their roster before next season.

This is what interests me most as well. Wonder if our run gets us into top fifteen.

And adding via grad transfers.

They have two big time centers coming in and they have a transfer who is being touted as a potential lottery pick in a year or two.

They lose one contributor and get EC Matthews back. Surprised they're ahead of VCU though.

Paschall is not a lottery pick. Sorry. He's good though.

C'mon now. Every tweener that comes back for another year or two is a guaranteed lottery pick.

Rhode Island will be good next year. They lost their stud guard E.C. Matthews and had a young team with upside this year.

If we could get them a pay game at the Dome it would be a good RPI and good bank win for March.

Virginia Tech went 10-8 in the ACC this year and was a young team as well. If they are better in the nonconference they will be a borderline top 25 team.

We need Malachi and Lydon back and will be top a 25 team.
