Syracuse freshman Deandre Kerr scored the first two goals of his career in a 2-2 tie against Louisville in men's soccer action on Friday, Oct. 16. The Orange...
This was a strange game. Two very young, very talented teams trying to find their identities.
Syracuse dominated possession all game long. Passed it very well. Lots of really good chances to score.
UL’s goalkeeper took out a Syracuse player on a breakway early in the second half when SU was up 1-0.
He got red carded and UL was forced to play a man down the rest of the game. Their 1st strong keeper hot red carded the game before so they were already playing the backup. This forced them to play their 3rd string keeper the rest of the game. True fiosh. He was immediately thrown into the fire trying to stop the penalty kick SU got when Archimedes was decked. He guessed right, made a great save and from that point forward, it was a different game. UL started playing really hard and looked far better.
SU got a great goal to go up 2-0 and were still leading by 2, up a man with less than 20 minutes to go when disaster hit and UL scored twice in the span of 4 minutes.
Kerr looks like he is going to be very good. Lots of talent on the SU roster but they look weak on defense up the middle. Damaging tie that is probably going to cost them in this very short season.
