Women’s softball is on the rise with a talented female HC. Field Hockey is a perennial top team with a female HC. These are only examples. With minority participation in sport ( yes Women’s participation is a relatively new experience for female athletes on the college level) Women, like other minority groups ( experience wise) benefit from having mentors that they can relate to. Currently, the NFL is struggling to provide meaning numbers in it’s HC positions while at the same time having a preponderance of it’s athletes being non Caucasian.
