Some shameless self-promotion here. I started writing for CollegeSpun.com about a month ago, and just put together this piece, where using the average of the Scout/Rivals team rankings from 2013 and 2014, I looked to see what programs saw the greatest rise this year.

I'm working on the companion piece with the five schools that saw the biggest drop-offs, which I almost think you guys may like even more, though I won't ruin it yet.

FWIW: This linked worked, BK. But, I could not get to the top 5 risers, even when clicking on the link in the tanked article.
Ugh, thanks. We're working on it. It was working for a while, not sure what the issue is.

Let me know if you get that link working. I check collegespun about 10 times a day. Congrats on the gig!

UConn FB is finally #1!

I wish UConn nothing but failure on the football field.

I hope Mr. Burton eventually gets his way and is named HC of the Huskies.

All would be good with the world!

In defense of Houston, I believe last year they had a signing day 5-star WR flip to them. No such luck this year and it shows in the ranking.

CollegeSpun ROCKS! Alyson and Matt are awesome!

2nd page of the top risers won't work. Can anyone type it out?

Nice article! FYI; in regards to large classes (25+) and recruiting rankings, only the top 20 recruits in each class are factored into the point system so any large class is compared evenly to any other classes that reached 20 recruits.

Is that true? I had no idea...I'll have to look into it.

Didn't most of those schools go through coaching changes last year?

A bunch of them did, but some like Stanford and Michigan State just had big years. Was a bit surprised about Michigan State particularly, because I always assumed that a big season would pay off more in the following class than the current one.
