I'm not a big fan of this political correct nonsense. At all. Men like to look at attractive women. It's been that way for thousands of years (basically since the start of the species). It's not an indicator that men are shallow...it's an indicator of what evolution has produced. The fact that women are less interested in looks doesn't give them any moral high ground - it means the things they are wired to seek from men are different (and can lead them to pretty self destructive behaviors since the dark triad of personality traits is highly appealing to women). The female imperative has so fully taken over our culture that in 2013, we shame men for daring to comment on women in less than glowing terms rather than shaming women for not doing what they can to keep up their appearances. I'm personally tired of going to high school basketball games and seeing 16 year old land whales proudly strutting out on the floor to cheer, with a steady chorus of 'you go, grrrl,' playing in her head. I weap for a culture that thinks this is cultural advancement - it's really an indicator of cultural decline. For women the truth should be obvious if they can hear past the lies the culture keeps telling them - if you look better, higher caliber men will be interested in you. Doesn't matter if you think it's fair or unfair, it's how the world works - and no amount of effort at shaming men for being more interested in attractive women is going to change that. We'd be far better off as a society to stop trying to shame men when they comment on women's physical appearance, and went back to shaming women for letting themselves go. (Which still occurs in some places, I knew an overweight woman that went to Western Europe and when she returned, she complained about all the judge mental looks she got from people. Not shockingly she didn't see many overweight women under the age of 50). The Syracuse cheerleaders of the recent past could afford to drop a few pounds. Now the cheer leading squad is more physically attractive. Having the football team not be one of the worst in FBS football, and having the basketball team consistently be a top ten team and making the Final Four last year probably contributes to more high value women being interested in cheer leading again. All around, everyone should be happier with the current state of affairs. Assuming the poster I'm responding to is a man, take the red pill and stop white knighting. Thank you.
