People should be encouraged to attend the game. I’m sure that the players would much rather have the people in the stands rather than at Meier’s creek. Spin it anyway you want but you’re dead wrong here. I’m sure that Coach Fran would have a problem with people going to Meiers Creek instead of the Dome. Especially for this massive game against Miami. As I’ve said over and over again, it’s in poor taste to advertise an event DURING the game. Advertise for after the game or before the game and encourage people to stop by the taproom to pick up beer for their tailgate. The issue lies here because it’s specifically DURING the game. Again, a sold out game, different story. But we’re talking about a team that’s won a lot of games this year, with a reduced dome capacity and we still aren’t selling out. They need every bit of help they can get. Tickets sold to the game help out the university cover the cost of the scholarships etc. The athletic department needs tickets to be sold. I understand that it’s probably slim that their post is actually effecting anything but it’s the optics. People spoke out about it last week and that should have been the end of it. To come back and post AGAIN for this week is in very poor taste.
