Heather Lyke, special advisor to John Wildhack and a candidate to be SU’s next director of athletics, had a human resources complaint filed against her on Dec. 1, 2025, according to documents obtained by The Daily Orange.

“A December human resources complaint alleged Heather Lyke, a high-ranking advisor and candidate for Syracuse University’s next director of athletics, directed “employees to disregard instructions given by our department’s top leader” and overstepped “the appropriate boundaries of her role.”

Football was generally handled well. We know the basketball issues. JB’s departure was messy, but was probably going to be messy no matter who the AD was. The Red hire was ultimately the wrong choice. One bad head coach hire wouldn’t indicate a failing department, though. Are other SU sports suffering?

Our tv coverage has been fine for our caliber.

Hopefully, when all this dust settles and we have navigated these important hires with quality selections and successfully dodged the bullets that the outgoing chncellor fired... Wildhack will get the kudos he deserves.
