SU really needs to get their communications in order for parking for tailgates and what not.

One statement is that parking only opens 2.5 hours before on Fridays, which would make Stanfords game open at 5PM... Already got a general email that it opens on 3:30PM, then got another special West Lot email that it opens at 4:30PM... Sorta rediculous that I get 3 different emails for the same game all with different times...

I'll be there at 2:30PM-3PM for the tailgate... The parking booth attendant knows me... argh! Why can't they figure out their comms?

The SU parking services people are not affiliated with SUAD.

I don’t think the needs of fans who park in their lots for SU sporting events are a high priority for them.

They do what they want, when they want.

SU has done a lot things well recently but this is not one of them. If your trying to resurrect the big time college football atmosphere of the 80s and 90s and compete with the SEC and B10 now you don't tell people paying hundreds and thousands of dollars that the lots in the main tailgating area only open 3 hours to kick. Certainly we will be there earlier but it sends a very bad message and looks like amateur hour.

I agree and the mixed messages and times do not help. There is no reason we shouldn't be able to get into any parking space, even on a 6pm start at 2-3pm. What is worse is normally on Friday it is because of 'classes' hence the 2.5 before time which when I recall my college days and if it was a game day no one went to the afternoon classes if at any at all on Friday so they should be cleared lots. Not to mention parking garages and lots were for parking patrons for games and normal parking pass people usually had to vacate the lots then... They don't but it might be different for SU faculty and all.

What burns me the most is that normally this would be a 6PM game but is 7:30PM due to west coast Stanford TV probably. So 3:30 should be well within limits as that is normally what their gametime lot/garage openings should be with that 2.5hr for 6PM. The fact they can't even get communications straight and are telling everyone inconsistent times is bull***! There is no reason an organization that large cannot coordinate, and I don't care if they are separate entities as they operate under one umbrella and have the ability to coordinate times and communications. After all don't we have the Newhouse School of Public Communications?

Anyhow, like Jeremy said all will be there anyhow... My common sense nomination of the day for that! I'll bring some Moonhill Brewery from Gardner MA.

FYI, I heard reports of some getting 5PM, some getting 4:30 some getting 5:30... I got a 3:30, 4:30, and a 5:00PM email all different and all different people. SU, SU Athletics, SU Parking... ridiculous.

We have never had a Friday home game that starts earlier than 7 PM.

Do we know if other lots got these emails or just West lot??

I know some got them for the garages for 5:00PM and 5:30PM. In SU parking it specifically says at 4:30PM on Dome event days students and faculty cant park there unless on a 'avail space only' on the weekends, and not at all on weekdays. It doesn't say we can't come early either that I could find.

My Lawyer ADD is kicking in... Ironically it says at the top if parking doesn't enforce it doesn't mean it isn't enforceable in the future, which ironically can be argued against as that means they were not doing their duty with honoring parking permit they issue.
:)

To be fair, this game is usually a 7pm game because it is always on ESPN.

Not sure why the 7:30 starts on ESPN this year for the Friday night football but that’s how it’s been this season.

Not going to complain, 7:30 is a great start time

I plan to arrive at about 1:30 at West Lot and I plan on parking
I plan to be there 2-2:30 and parking... It's not like the dude doesn't know us all... I keep forgetting his name though...

It does give those who work that extra 30 min they normally wouldn't have. But that place will be crazy by 3:30-4 so I plan on getting early. I've already put 50 hours in this week and still got about 10ish to do by noon tomorrow.
