SU/Pitt left behind as WVU chuckle

Not sure why they should be so giddy. So, they get to play in another conference one year earlier than we do. Wow.

And they likely will pay $12.5 million more in exit fees, good for them. Do we get a share of their fee to apply to our exit?

--------

This article is deranged on so many levels.

WVU acted in an outlaw, slimy way and the author seems to imply they was "selected" precisely because the Big 12 selection depended on immediate availability, meaning violating the terms of their contract.

Good luck to WVU as they travel for all sports to Iowa State, KSU, KU, Baylor, TCU, Tech, OSU, OU and UT.

Somehow I doubt many fans or administrators at Pitt or SU wish they were playing schools in Kansas, Iowa, OK and Texas in all sports.

They took what they could get. Good for them as they couldn't get into the ACC nor the SEC . It will probably be 25+ years before we play them again. They are in the rear view mirror and have been for a while now. Luck is a well.. an arrogant jerk to put it nicely. The whole article shows no class what so ever.

So Friday October 21, 2011 will be a day that will live in infamy to Mountaineer Nation when we got the final say to the tune of 49-23.

So glad we got the last laugh in the series which Syracuse leads 32-27

Agree, come 2013, who is going to care anyway? SU and Pitt will have more money in their pockets, for whatever that is worth. WVU gets their moment for now, but the window will close, not like SU and Pitt are stuck here in purgatory.

Let them have their moment. The travel will get old and fast for the hoopies.

They were kind of isolated in the Big East, too. It's not like Morgantown is a major airport. Their only truly close travel partner was Pitt among the old guard. Louisville and maybe Cincinnati, the next 2 closest, may be joining them in the Big 12, Louisville almost for certain, and Cinci is probably the fall back team if they can't get BYU.

Let them be giddy now. Let's see how giddy they are in a couple years when realignment is still being discussed and rumors continue of Oklahoma and Okie St to the SEC and Texas to the PAC10 or Big10. Then they can stress over rumors of the leftover Big12 teams merging with BE football schools in an east west setup. It'll be the Big Mess.

They were really in a tough spot, so I guess you have to give them credit for making the most of it right now. Their fate is tied to the Texas Longhorns. In the short term, that's great, certainly better than the Big USA. But in the long term, that's terrifying. A program that wants all of the revenue. A program that really could care less that WVU is even alive, just needed a warm body to fill their conference # to make sure they have the same pot of money to take most of.

I don't get why they would be laughing at Pitt and SU. They were the ones who were left behind in the initial movement by SU and Pitt to the ACC. They were running around like chickens with their heads cut off trying to find ANYONE who would take them. The hilarious part is academically even the SEC looked at them as lepers. Of course, the shots that they are taking at the ACC now are nothing but sour grapes...they would break their necks to figure out how to break their agreement with the Big 12 if the ACC offered. At the end of the day WVU would still be in the Sun Beast if BYU had taken seat number 10 in the Big 12. All of the snark out of WVU show what happens when the ugly duckling gets a little...even if it was a consequence of beer goggles. At the end of the day they're still ignorant, toothless, hillbillies and nobody cares if they ever see them again. By the way, I makes these statements in a non-judgmental manner.

Absolutely they made the right decision for them and they should be giddy about that. But their attitude says they are giddy about something they got and others didn't. It was more a shot at their attitude versus their action.
