Thought I would give a follow-up on my post from prior to yesterday's game.  The team lost to the reigning NCAA champions Notre Dame 1-0, but played to their level all game, at no point looking overmatched.

As the title might tell you, the energy of the crowd was excellent, with the attendance record set last season bested by over 600 fans.  The SU players came over towards the students behind the goal and gave them a rounding ovation at the start of the second half and postgame to thank them for showing up.

It's great that another SU program can compete at the highest level with the reigning national champions and #4 team in the country.  Syracuse was ranked #20 coming into last night, and was 4-0-0.  Possibly due to the Daryl Gross effect, but team improvement and fan involvement were fantastic, and even friends of mine who aren't very into soccer came solely for the atmosphere and left impressed.

Would definitely recommend the highlights below, firstly to see the beautiful jerseys our soccer team has, some of the best an SU team has to offer, and secondly to get a glimpse of the crowd (for those of you unfamiliar with the stadium, there are metal bleachers along one side of the field, and there is a hill behind the net, where students were encouraged to #PackTheHill, along with the overflow of fans unable to fit in the bleachers.).
