The Syracuse University women's basketball game against Morgan State, scheduled for Monday, Dec. 28 (7 p.m., ACC Network) has been canceled. The decision was...
Do we know if the women have also been wearing those contact bracelets?
I am going to assume that the next schedule game, Thursday 12/31 at the Dome against UNC is almost surely going to be cancelled (and likely postponed). UNC embarrassed the SU women in Chapel Hill, which might have saved their season. They made a crazy comeback in their next conference game to beat a lightly regarded Wake team last week. I am sure the SU women would like revenge for that awful loss. If the game is canceled, it would be a shame.
The next game after that is against Virginia on 1/7, a Thursday, again in the Dome. If they do the full 2 week shutdown, that would being us to the ND game on Sunday 1/10. With Syracuse unable to practice at all before the game. Not 100% sure when the positive test was...maybe they can get in one practice.
Hoping at least some of the team can practice and maybe they all have been wearing the contact bands and only a few team members were affected. Q plays a lot of players and there is a lot of depth on the team. Losing 3 or 4 scholarship athletes for a while might still allow them to play these games.
If they haven’t been announced as postponed yet, you have to think there is a chance they might go on. I hope so. I am desperate to watch some Cuse basketball. Women or men!
Guards Tiana Mangakahia and Kiara Lewis said they feel safe and confident the Orange will play a full schedule.

Like the men’s team, the women have been wearing wristwatch-like devices designed to measure how close each individual comes to someone else during practices. Mangakahia said there are also several other precautions to follow.
