Print Glitch Of The Day

In the print edition of this Lindsay Krammer article Early fourth-down stop kept Rhode Island in the game there are two more headings, "Rams Hold Their Own" and "Competition Continues". In the latter Kramer writes, "That noted, he said the fierce competition he had with true freshman Jonathan Murphy during preseason camp continues." It's Jonathan Fisher.

"I think it would have been really tough on us today to play so good for as long as we did and let this one get away," Grobe said. "We were a little shell-shocked last week up at Syracuse, but today we found a way to get it done."
WSJ

Thus, this was a terrific win for Wake Forest. It was a more impressive victory than winning at Syracuse would have been, and the growth in the nine days between the games serves notice that Grobe's team just might have what it takes to make life miserable for the rest of the ACC.

LB Doug Hogue, fifth round: When training camp started, the free agents had to wait a week to participate. During that time Hogue got plenty of valuable reps. Once the free agents got on the field that changed. He was drafted more as a project and so far Schwartz had only had good things to say about him.
DT

“Chad Battles and Terrence Pugh and Hasan Craig come in to give us a breather,” Adrian said. “They give us some speed. It was the plan, but now it’s definitely the plan. We always wanted to get those speed guys on. Now, it’s a necessity. Now we’re playing those guys at tackle sometimes.”

Around The Big East

This past weekend was not a good one for the Big East. In games that mattered, there were some games to be won, but Rutgers did not get it done against North Carolina, U Conn lost to Vanderbilt, the traditional cellar-dweller of the SEC and Cincinnati stumbled against a not that good Tennessee team. In games that didn't matter, Syracuse had its hands full with Rhode Island and Pitt had a tough time with Maine

Do you think that's it or that they just can't figure out defenses that stunt and move? Probably a combo I suppose and here's hoping they get better fast for next week.
