I haven't gone into the sanctions stuff much but this was the first time ever I think I turned the game off with 5 minutes or so to go.

It's not that they don't try. Or I think they do, but, this was a microcosm of what we saw all year and towards the end of last season. The erosion of fundamentals and lack of playmaking has just become worse. Today felt like an exhibition game. The horrendous turnovers and absolutely dismal defense at the top of the zone. To play like this is March is alarming. Nobody learned anything this year it seeemed. You can say what you want about the cast of characters thrown into the fire and some who are vets. We looked totally outclassed and overmatched from an athletic and basketball perspective at almost every position. I like NC St. They have some good pieces. I didn't expect to win this one but didnt expect to be embarrassed. No progress from Joseph today. Fitting end to the season I suppose.

I was at a bar and left halfway through second half. It was clear what the outcome would be.

I did the same thing turned it off with 8 to go couldn't watch anymore haven't done that ever if I can recall.

christmas cooney and gbinije play bad we had no chance to win.

Yup. I said 5 left but it was probably more like 7 or 8 left. Unwatchable. Looked like an exhibition game.

I think they try hard. Just not very good.

Yeah, some of this on the coaching and development as well. One can't convince me otherwise. Or maybe the recruiting. Who knows. I am definitely not liking what I am seeing. Some of these guys would need MONUMENTAL leaps in order to be contributors next season, imo.

I don't think effort was the problem, nc state is a good team, and they needed the game more. It came down to what it has all year, bad guard play, and an inability to make shots.

The only reason I didn't turn it off is that it's a long time before we play again...

Weve had two abysmal years of offensive basketball in a row.

We struggle to get to 50 points in a lot of games. I give the team credit for not quiting but we are just limited offensively because our guard play isn't great offensively.

Down 4 guys the staff expected to have. I don't think they'll all SU caliber players but they've almost all been asked to play beyond their abilities.

I think I only made about halfway through the 2nd half.
Had to turn it off before I ended up breaking something.
The number of missed shots were just unbelievable.
This seems like a trend the last 3-4 years - guys at this level of play ought to be better shooters when we've been seeing.

I watched to the end. Didn't matter if they played well or not at this point. It's still our team. Watch to the end and be proud of the players, despite the troubles. It's the last look before next season.

Remember the Virginia game? It felt pretty similar.
It did seem eerily similar - we were up 8 and in control 16 minutes into the game and then the wheels came off.

To me it felt worse. It seemed like we had so many stupid turnovers in this game. Virginia just clamped down on us like a slow boa constrictor. They scored 59 points. Today, the defense up top of the zone was just atrocious combined with inept offense.

What I had seen, is as great a year as Rak had, he had his trouble with "beef". The 2 lugs for NC St were like one step ahead. Villanova's center, Okafor, wore Rak down on D...Rak still has a 4's body...

Cooney had a slump as bad as last year but never got as hot. Shot 31 percent from 3.
