Rick, Dnichols, Andy Rautins, didn't exactly have great freshmen through Jr seasons. All three of them earned a shot at the NBA as seniors.

Heck Triche sophmore season alone was probably better then any of theirs and he is going with a slender build and different type of game now. Same with Scoop he did put speed on and lose weight in the offseason. Same goes for Joseph who has changed his game as well.

We will have to wait and see. :noidea:

neither are nba players. heres hoping for outstanding seasons for both of them.

I agree. Whats the 1 thing you always hear "experts" say is 1 of the biggest keys for teams in the ncaa tourament? Experienced guard play. We've got 2 starters who've been through the wars and hopefully are ready to lead us to the promised land.

I've said it before, and I'll say it again, Triche has the best all-around offensive skill set on this team. He's the only player I trust to get points from anywhere on the floor, as long as he can actually get assertive from time to time.

And with his size and strength, coupled with an improving perimeter game and the ability to play the point, I still think he has a chance to at least get a real long look from an NBA team or two.

I hope zScoop's judgement has improved as well. Some of his actions last year went from questionable straight to bizarre. I may never forget that play when Scoop found himself all alone under the basket with the ball. Flatfooted he tried to dunk the ball . Needless to say he looked like a one armed man in a wheelchair who weighs 300lbs+. That he failed to score at all was incidental having given me a season long laugh or smile when I think about it. Its called a backboard and its used to carom the ball of into the basket from just about any point on the floor.:rolling:

When you factor in the bench, yes, we absolutely do. MCW and Dion would start on most teams, and Cooney and Mookie (if he remains a 2, though indications are that he'll be a full time 3) would be quality reserves on most teams.

If he plays under control, I believe there is an excellent chance that Dion can emerge as our go to scorer. Regardless of whether or not Dion emerges, I would also put Kris & Scoop ahead of Brandon as go to guys.

I do not believe that Brandon has the mindset to be a go to guy, irrespective of our opinions on his skillset.

I agree 100%. But you should really schedule a debate with Tristan on this issue. :D

Not me. I think both will have fine years

Dions the best scoring guard on the team sans the frosh two because i havent seen them play yet.

He does because he can score from anywhere, BUT, his game is best suited for when he has the ball in his hands. Standing on the wing waiting for the PG to pass the ball to him is not his game. People want him to be more aggressive...well put him up top with the ball and you'll see that. But, as I've said before, for the team, PG Scoop + SG BT > PG BT + SG Scoop.

Bees, I completely agree with your assessment. I think we'll see a breakout season from Brandon next year when he takes over the point (unless MCW takes the reins, keeping BT at the 2G...I know Dion could jump into the starting lineup, but I'd wager that MCW will catapult him).

Backcourt is in good hands for 2-3 years
