I know a lot of people point to SWC's upside/downside, radio show recap posts as favourite memories. While I agree they were tremendous and showed what an amazing fan he was, I will forever treasure his posts after the hoops season was over, all but one ending in a loss... the posts simply pointed out that another season had passed, but spring was on the way. He also had a number of posts warning people to not wish time away, especially summer days, and take time to enjoy whatever moment of the year we were in. As a fellow Mets fan, I also enjoyed his posts about baseball and listening to games on the radio... which btw is how I grew up as a Mets fan, listening to games on the radio.

If I were to summarise what made these posts so special to me, it was the message to slow down and take a minute to smell the flowers and enjoy what's next versus wishing way the summer. I would read those posts and I could just feel the calm exuding from them. They gave me peace as I pictured someone I had never met in person in my life just relaxing and enjoying the day.

SWC, you made life better, if only for a few minutes at time, for this stranger you never met in real life just based on your words on a message board. I posted this before and I'll post it again, but when my time comes I can only hope to have the same amazing impact on strangers that you have had over the years. I hope you are in a happy place and you can talk to your brother about the upcoming football season versus writing a letter.
