– Elijah Robinson’s unit, turbo-charged by Dr. Blitz, just dropped 8 sacks last week. When the front hunts like that, it flips the script: hurried reads, off-schedule snaps, and takeaway chances.
- Aggressive plan travels
– The pressure packages, stunts, and disguised looks weren’t a one-off gimmick. Keep sending heat from different levels and Tech’s timing offense starts living in 2nd-and-long.
- Offense found late-life rhythm
– The last quarter finally showed pace and clarity: cleaner splits, quicker decisions, and Collins pushing it with confidence. Start there instead of ending there, and you put Tech on the back foot early.
- Position shuffles worked (on defense)
– Last week’s personnel/rotation changes injected juice and better matchups. Keep that flexibility—ride the hot hands, keep legs fresh, and force Tech to adjust, not you.
- Defensive depth is emerging
– Young guys (hello, Deslauriers) are stepping into real snaps without drop-off. A deeper rotation means the pass rush still bites in Q4, not just Q1.
- If Nixon sparks early rhythm, confidence snowballs
– If OC Nixon dials up fast, clean openers—quick game, defined reads, a couple layups for Collins—the offense can settle immediately. Early rhythm → confidence → better third downs → longer drives.
- Win the trenches, win the night
– Replicate last week’s line surge and the rest cascades: field position tilts, Tech’s tempo slows, and SU dictates terms.
