Coach, I was at the Marquette game and I watched the replay on Orange All-Access when I got home and here’s what I think I saw on the flagrant foul play: Marquette missed a shot. Fab was going for the rebound and threw an elbow that caused the Marquette player, (Wilson), to collapse to the court when it hit him in the face. Crowder scored on a follow-shot after the foul, which the referees didn’t call until they saw the guy on the floor and then decided to review the replay to see how he got hurt. They then decided to retroactively call the flagrant foul and allowed Crowder’s follow-shot to stand even though it came after the foul. A U-tube video also shows the refs missed a 3 second call, (it was more like 13) and Wilson shoving Melo out of the way before the elbow hit him.
 
I’ve seen a lot of players go down in games over the years. They were obviously hit in some way. I’ve seen officials look at monitors to see if a foul they already called should be considered flagrant. I’ve never seen them view the monitor to see how a guy got hurt and then retroactively call a foul they missed. Are they allowed to do that? And should Crowder’s shot have counted if it came after the foul?
