My new stance on this whole episode:

This supports what I said about the initial cover that Miner provided to the current police chief - they didn't have any files on this report, and needed an opportunity to check to see whether they had anything before letting the D.A. start going thru things and potentially criticizing them for not having taken the report seriously.

i wonder if this prompts SU to release its report publicly. I would think this will lead to lots of cover up conspiracy theories directed at SU and JB because of Duval's position and the SPD's inaction.

How was DD aware if no names were provided to the SPD during the phone call?

This question keeps getting asked- but isn't the 2005 SU report in the hands of authorities? They are the ones who have final say on whether it get released at this point, not SU.
It just seems like another avenue to imply foot-dragging or cover-up... "Why hasn't SU released the report"?? etc.

So what?

Based on this report and Fowler's statement, I don't see the significance of DuVal.

One of the interesting things in this article is that Davis allegedly told Duvall that the abuse had happened in Bernie's home. No mention about road trips.

Davis never spoke to DuVal. He spoke to a detective named Fox.
