I have announced at the last two tailgates and so far the response has been underwhelming, so will try again here.
With the exception of the Southern Tier group running the Stanford tailgate, we all rely on largely the same group to put on our events at every home game. These folks are not paid or compensated in any way. They pay the same for their season tickets and parking passes as everyone else. What they do not get to do is enjoy the gameday atmosphere to the same extent as the rest of the attendees to the SyraCRUZ Tailgates. This core group comes through every week for the love of the Orange and a strong sense of responsiblity to deliver a world class experience, but the least we can do is to give them a week or two to simply be fans and part of our Fine Mess community. Without some consideration the current state may not be sustainable.
In the spirit of fairness, we are asking the rest of our regular attendees to consider volunteering to work at least one of the remaining tailgates. This can include manning the grill or Blackstone. helping out with the 50-50, check in table or serving line or preparing an item for the buffet. Your tailgate for that week will be free and you will be reimbursed for any cash outlay if you do prepare a dish.
Please consider helping out by sending a PM to JeremyCuse and I indicating which of the remaining game(s) you may be willing to help at and any roles you would like to be assigned to. We will review the staffing plan for the week and respond with assignments and details.
