And regardless how they got there, MSG and ESPN would be irate that two of the biggest draws/best teams weren't at the tournament.

My solution would be that the Big East hire some competent leadership and act like grown-ups.  If I was Providence or Seton Hall I'd want everyone to know that I'm the grown-up in the room, because they're going to need all the friends they can get to stay even marginally relevant in college basketball over the next few years.  Keeping Syracuse and Pitt out of the tournament shows everyone your the five year old having a temper tantrum.
