At the end of the day, you get what you pay for with a new hire.  If they want to go "cheap," then they'll run the risk of not bringing in the best candidate.  That doesn't mean that a lesser known and / or unproven candidate can't be successful here, just that there's more risk associated with going that route instead of bringing in a proven coach with a successful track record.
