I just don't see how something so commonplace and outside of the control of a university could possibly ever be an issue - you'd have to penalize every single school and imagine the waste of resurces trying to police it.  Plus twitter is so public, you couldn't possibly be offering the recruit anything.  It jus doesn't pass the common sense test to me.

On a related topic though - I'm an orange club member, is it a violation when if my kid's soccer coach talks to me about the school when his daughter is being recruited for soccer there?   I don't recall anything in the membership material telling me not to do that if asked...??   If this stuff is really so strict that some people are worried about twitter, than the AD should be very clear to donors what is and isn't ok.  People love their school, that's why they donate.
