going from the football crown jewel of the NYC area to the baseball crown jewel, while not necessarily a fail (we all knew what attendence would be) is an admission of defeat. simply, the team shouldnt play the big stage.
 
and by not playing the big stage...we all suffer.
 
games at Yankee Stadium will suck in comparison to Giants Stadium. 1st of all, nobody will be able to get there...except Manhattanites by subway...and then you are pushing them into bars instead of a great tailgate. 2nd, the sight lines basically suck as well. 3rd, they basically will be excluding jersey and eastern PA folk from easily attending.
 
the good news is that a 40k showing will look massive.
 
the funny thing is Syracuse has played Giants Stadium in the 70s, the 80s, the 90s, the 00s and the 10s. but as soon as they announced they plan to play there in the 20s and 30s...people got their pantys all up in a wad.
