so we're net negative -50k from the WMU and Uconn deals? I assume this is business in college football.

Net even. Cuse is paying / spending the same amount for the other end of these deals.

That's how I interpreted it also, but then I started questioning myself when I read his comment.

i thought we got paid 300k for WMU and paying 350 to Uconn? are there other payouts for the away games/home games for OOC as well?

Not really. UConn: 50,000 fans X $4 Dome Dogs ($200K) + 50,000 beers X $8 beer ($400K) = $600K. And that's w/o even trying.

I'm being a little facetious here, but I do casually wonder what kind of revenue SU generates for an ACC game in which they get maybe 30-35K in attendance.

Overall I could care less about the business side as long as they win the right way.

As Ringo sang so plainly in 1971: ♫It Don't Come Easy...You know It Don't Come Easy♫ That's especially true for SU Football now that we're in the ACC. However it will only make winning that much sweeter should we earn it.

Thanks to the younger posters for indulging me w/my "happenning" Ringo reference.

In 2016, UCONN paid us $350K and we'll be paying WMU $300K in 2019.

so odd if it's a home and away we move funds back and forth. What is the reason for this if there are no tax implications with regards to being tax exempt operations. i get the one off payouts but the home/away with the same money moving . i'm not a tax expert so generally wondering.

I'm sure it's an annual budget thing.

because the contracts can be broken and the teams can buy games out that's why I would guess it's not payed in full and the funds would move back and forth.
