It is in the best interests of ESPN, and thus the leagues they back (ACC and SEC) if they play often. SEC teams lack only 1 thing: direct access to large northeastern markets. A wise Syracuse AD would know that for for SU to reach its potential in football, it must become NY's team, truly. And that cannot be accomplished if Syracuse is not playing 1 quality (preferably Big Name) team inside the NYC TV market each year.

So, if I were SU AD, I would be working with MetLife and Yankee Stadium. I also would be working with the SEC ADs and even trying to get the SEC office to help, so that an SEC Big Name plays in NYC at last every other year. So, as AD, I would agree to play the biggest name SEC teams with SU Home games in NYC.

I would not give up a game in Syracuse to play Miss St or Kentucky or Vandy or SoCar or Arkansas or Ole Miss or Missouri. But playing Bama, LSU, Texas A&M, Florida, Georgia, or Tennessee in NYC is worth not playing in Syracuse.
