In looking up our history with Army I realized that with our game this season we will have played Pitt more than any other opponent in our history. 72 times, topping Penn State:

It's also pretty crazy that we now only annually play 2 of our top 15 opponents in terms of most games played.

Just Pitt and BC.

Time have changed, indeed.

Still find it odd to not be playing WVU.

And that SU-Pitt rivalry couldn't be less interesting. To both sides. We could never quite figure out how to be good at the same time. Which is probably a good indicator of northeast talent level, and how much competitive football it can support.

Agreed.

It's amazing to me how relatively little heat there is for our most played opponent.

WVU on the other hand... that was a great rivalry.
you guys are going to make me chart SRS for WVU, Pitt and SU each year aren't you

would be interesting to correlate SRS or some other measure of how good you are with WVU Pitt BC etc

Remind us what SRS is?

Is there a variable that accounts for any of these?

dan henning was a true innovator in the two tight end offense for teams that don't have two tight ends in buffalo

Agree on so little rivalry with what will be most played opponent. Also miss West Virginia rivalry. I think that rivalry was so great because of the cockiness presented by WVU fans, always made interesting "talk." Just like Rutgirls once they started winning.
Really wish we would play Army in a home/away series. Would love to go to West Point and play such a honored program again.
Lastly Pitt and Syracuse takes on a new meaning for me as my daughter starts her Masters there this fall. Who would have guessed it, my father a PSU grad, me a SU grad and my daughter to be a Pitt grad. Talk about Thanksgiving dinner, I wonder who will have the knife to cut the turkey.

I hope it's mom, unless she's a Rutgers alumn, then all bets are off.

I despise PSU and WVU, but I firmly believe that we should play them every year.

I respect Pitt and BC, and I also firmly believe that we should play them every year.

I really couldn't care less about playing the ladies, but I do like NYC games. Beyond that, I like playing Miami, I like playing VTech, I like playing ND, I like playing UMD, I like playing Tulane, I like playing Northwestern.

After that, I really don't care.
