I agree with you guys. Pretty basic, non-committal, very bland. Clearly SU thought they had to release something, and that's what they decided was best.

As I pointed out elsewhere, this is not a new statement. The university is reiterating two points (via Twitter) from the Chancellor's recent email to alumni, students and faculty.

They're just letting people know that they're aware of recent developments and that appropriate action will be taken.

This is a fair statement. I have no problem with it. If it turns out to be true a lot of good people in the SU community will be
shocked.

Release the 2005 report from Bond, Schoeneck & King.
And tell people whether the University knew of the tape at that time.
