Nick Santiago had a good game as well. -As good as the two DT's were the D-ends were pretty much non-existent - Despite the record that year the D did have some good players - Flaherty at LB, Chiara and Suter at safety both had good games against ND, Smith at LB flashed as well. - Sales got some run as a frosh WR and had a few catches, Doug Hogue saw sometime at RB as well. - Brinkley and Bailey was a heck of a combo. Bailey and that O-line dominated in the second half. - That WR group was god awful. Dpnte Davis had the winning TD catch but when he's your #1 you know there is a problem. Lobdell was invisible, Merkerson had a few catches, and Van Chew got a grab late. I think Bruce Williams had been moved back to D again and was hurt at this point don't recall hearing his name. Sean Riley is Deion Sanders compared to Mike Holmes returning punts in that game, yikes. -Owen at TE was zero threat to catch the ball but did some good blocking in this game. A true frosh Provo had a catch. -Fiametta was an underrated player, moved great for a fullback and was a threat in the passing game, had a huge catch on the game winning drive. -Heard a lot of players names I hadn't heard in years that also brought back some less then fond memories but what a win by at that point a 2-8 team. -Dantley while far from even an average QB did a commendable job with a poor WR unit but a great running game.
