Syracuse wins, Duke & Kentucky lose

Doesn't get much better, unless Gtown had lost too .

Apples and Bananas. Hard to draw any conclusion from us beating Fordham, and Duke and Kentucky losing to Kansas and Michigan State respectively.

Yes, I'm glad they both lost. However, Kansas and Michigan State will probably move up in the RPI, and Duke and Kentucky will most likely stay about the same. No doubt the Cuse will stay the same or even drop.

I have to agree with the overall feel of the OP, even though I figured I'd probably have liked to see Kansas lose more than Duke, this definitely was a night to feel good. Calipari said players were crying in the locker room and he wanted that, as it would galvanize them. I'm not rejoicing in that, but it's good to see the potentially "most talented team in history" pick up some losses early before the chemistry supposedly develops.

Izzo does this to his team every year. Schedule incredible difficult challenges to test his teams. It's like the syracuse football schedule staff takes a break from us and develops the MSU basketball schedule.

I swear some so called experts were talking that Kentucky was going to go undefeated.

This is the time of year when New Hampshire State is No.1 in the RPI. The AP rankings, though . . . :)

I am trying to develop ACC pride the way I felt Big East pride. When our conference plays OOC teams, I root for the conference. So, no feeling good when Duke loses. It's a weird feeling, I must admit. Rooting FOR the ACC?

Did he really say they were crying in the locker room? Lol!

= one heck of a night in college basketball. I am basking in it.

You really have to hand it to Kansas, losing their top 6 guys including all their starters, and they beat a NC contenting team early in the season.

I'm not as much concerned with SU moving up or down the poles, I was (and am) basking in the the simple joy of having teams that I do not like (Duke & Kentucky) lose and the team I love (Syracuse) win. I'll worry about strength of schedule, conference support, rankings, etc. down the road. For now, just loving college hoops!
