looks like todays the day the bball board passes the fball board in total posts, such a monumental event that you have to make sure to take screen shots :noidea:

haha. i thought i was the only 1 tracking the last couple weeks.

NSD bought the football board a few extra days.

I have been paying attention as well, storied day for all of us...I just hope I don't let my emotions run to high! ;)

Will the football board ever be able to take the lead again?

That will be interesting to see

Ha. We're allowing Super Bowl posts there for 1 day, so maybe it can hang on to see tomorrow.

I follow it as well. Who gets the post that puts it over the edge?

My question is, how many people only post on one of the boards? I bet there is a lot more people that post BBall only than Fball only. Bees, do you admins know?

I post a lot on the hoops board but probably 30% of my posts are on the football board.

I may be wrong, but if I'm remembering correctly the basketball board always had more total posts than the football board in the previous syracusefan.com place of residence.

Until the football program rivals the success of the basketball program, that's the way it should be.

We started as a basketball only forum (in January 2000). Later that year, we added football at the request of Tomcat who promised to help make a real board out of it. The basketball board has ALWAYS had more posts than the football board (running totals)... as we moved from hosting site to hosting site. However, we moved to THIS site in late August 2011 -- right before the start of football season -- and the number counts restarted from zero. During the fall, there were way more football posts than basketball posts, but it was just a matter of time until the basketball posts took back the lead. (Also, if you count the posts of the "Fine Mess" board as basketball posts, basketball has long since passed football in number of posts on this hosting site).

Originally we started as a football forum for the most part.

That's only when we gave it a name. This "forum" started years before.

I was referring to when "syracusefan.com" started. That started as a basketball forum. At that point, about the only other place for syracuse sports was syracuse.com

Congrats. This site is the first site i go to every morning to see the lastest happening on cuse bball and football. Best site on the web thanks again guys

It was the same people at syracuse.com. And are you sure we were syracusefan.com at rivals? i thought it was orangenation or something mason came up with. syracusefan was a scout name.

I thought orangenation became syracusefan.com - both url's took you to the same place. Could be wrong though.

that is probably true.

I remember orangenation before syracusefan.com

Wasn't the AOL board an ancestor of this site? I was amazed to have found a community dedicated to SU sports back in 1994. Eventually I dropped my out of town subscription to the Post Standard. Too bad for the paper industry (my major at ESF).

The Prodigy board preceded the AOL board.

You are ALL WRONG. Syracusefan.com was started AS syracusefan.com. It had NO lineal ancestors. They were other Syracuse boards, but they were not related. We started this one as a greenfield site. First, it was an independent site. Then it alligned with Rivals. Then it joined Scout. And then it became independent again last August. Fishy and I kept submitting domaine names in late 1999 until we got one we could use ... syracusefan.com. The only three people around at the beginning of this site were Fishy, Temery and me. PERIOD.
