Syracuse's Nicky Galasso To Have Surgery, Miss 2013 Season

This really sucks.I still think we'll be significantly better than last year's team.

With what happened to Mike Daniello and now Nicky Galasso you really have to be thankful that we have great back-up in Ward, Rice, DeJohn and Donahue , its given them a great opportunity! and with the talent we have coming in next year Galasso will help to bring them on and add more experience to the team.

I wish Mike and Nicky a speedy recovery!

Exactly, other people are going to have to step up, the offense's celing is now lower based on the loss of Galasso but it should still be improved over last year.

Ugh. Just ugh. Just made the hole we have to climb out of even bigger.

Think that Galasso might have been damaged goods coming in. Not to be harsh but he struggled to find a place in the lineup at UNC off his previous injury. I feel for the kid because he came in so highly touted from high school. He might not ever return to form.

The new rules and hopefully improvement at the face off x and this team will be ok. The other attackmen are far from slouches. It is going to be an exciting year.

Given Galasso's injury (foot) history, one has to wonder if he will ever play another college lacrosse game. I certainly hope he does.

He's only got two feet and he's broken both of them. Can't get any worse.

Mark - he cant have been damaged goods as it is the opposite foot, I think he just suffers from what will now be known as "Galasso Foot" like Achillies and Munson! hahah

Woody, I realize it is the opposite foot and this is pure speculation but it could be likely that he was over compensating with the other healthy foot and this resulted in the injury. Maybe he came back to UNC too early and never really found the right balance. Either way it is bad luck for him and unfortunate.

I woudnt read to much into this, when people have injuries to one side of there body to a specific body part ie Knee, foot, shoulder, players end up breaking or tearing the same body part on the other side all of time. I am sure he was overcompensating and as such he weakened the healthy foot and boom now its hurt. This may end up being a blessing in disguise for SU, gives Galasso a full year to get fully healthy and forces this team to rely on what they have, plus it happened so early in the pre-season the team and staff can make adjustments nearly a month before the first game. SU will be OK, barring Galasso or Daniello leaving school, we should be loaded next year.

Spot on Mark, I remember when I blew my knee out my opposite leg took a pounding!
