I believe that also effected our scientific efforts and to a very slight degree research prestige. There was some talk about restarting. I think if Syracuse University had a sustainable medical school and college of nursing, it would add significant academic prestige. We would obviously have to get along with our neighbors down the street. There were serious blunders made, some things you just have to push through even if there are those who push back. Syracuse University should have local, regional and high-level State support exponentially and be viewed as a partner at the state level while still maintaining private status.
