What I really hate is seeing all those commicals for stores that are hours away. Food Lion? Not a store with in 50 miles of Syracuse! Maybe Wegmans can become a corporate supporter

What kills me is - here in "downstate" NY, Wegmans is a non-entity.

I've heard they have some sort of unofficial mutual non-aggression pact with some of the other grocery stores in this region, but still -

it's like playing RISK - you can make a side deal with your buddy not to attack Kamchatka, but eventually you get strong enough and just say FFF it and roll the dice.

(which is why we always half-jokingly called the game RISK Your Friendship )

I hope there's no side deal with Publix but I wouldn't be surprised if there was.

Publix is a decent chain but it's 20 or 30 years behind Wegmans.
