Tashon Whitehurst First Team All-6A

We also have at least 7 open ships... So it could be that, too.

very true i just wouldn't think we'd be that interested in another outside backer.

Although they spelled his name wrong. And people want to cut him loose because he's taking other visits...

And also says a little something about our improving classes when two of our lowest rated recruits over at Sc**t made first or second teams in Florida. Especially since they are both "projection" types.

Washington's going to be moved to DE
Parson isn't coming here
Owens I thought was a MLB
Myles Davis is a MLB
Tashon Whitehurst is an OLB

I'd prefer some more DE's, but we can use an OLB as well.

I figured they brought in 3 last year and 2 more this year with Whitehurst and Owens. Hard to say what Owens projects as because he's pretty light. If he comes here in the 220 range then maybe he's MLB. Id like to get back to having 220lb OLBs and 240lb MLBs.

If Whitehurst bails than another OLB is definitely needed.

In my opinion we need a lot more help on the offensive side of the ball before bringing in a 3rd OLB.

We have 2 RB's (McFarlane, Morris), a QB (Broyld), 2 TE's (Thompson, Parris), 2 WR's (Lewis, Cornelius). I would like to see a higher level offensive commit but we need defensive players.

Owens is one to keep an eye on.

Just know people are very high on him -- he plays for an awful team in rural FL outside of Jacksonville. He's a one man wrecking crew. Keep an eye out for him. My worry (just my own worry, nothing concrete mind you) is that he is not qualified. I know that area well and typically these kids have academic issues.

I know the reason Davis slipped through was because he played for an awful team in NJ and had issues academic wise -- could we see the same thing here? And where would Owens go for prep if that were the case?

same aituation with spruill. He was on a bad team, so he went to prep school to increse his chances of getting a scholarship.

Owens numbers from this year are insane...He averaged 15.3 tackles a game...that lead Florida 5A football from what I can tell...the newspaper in Jacksonville has him listed at 6'3" 218...the scout article from last year had him at OLB don't know if he moves inside or not

In addition to playing for bad teams, I think that's another comparison between him and Spruill. Both guys that didn't/don't need too add much weight to at least become serviceable early, good athletes that can handle outside, but are probably better off inside.
